Bender’s healthcare service continues to grow, with a noticeable rise in the maintenance of clinical products. As the exclusive distributor of Merivaara products incorporating Q-Flow™ lights, operating tables and pendants, Bender UK has factory-trained engineers to support and maintain Merivaara and third-party clinical products. 

The comprehensive service and aftersales capabilities are delivered by a dedicated service team of commercial, service coordination and field-based engineers who collectively support more than 420 service contracts, maintaining over 11,000 assets on behalf of NHS Trusts, private medical groups, and facilities management companies. The team set up and deliver all PPM schedules and are particularly skilled in managing large scale contracts with up to 50 hospitals on some service contracts. 

Maintenance packages are tailored to each site, with agreements spanning 1-5 years duration delivering 24/7, 365 call-out, technical support, diagnostics, repair, and health checks to remain compliant with HTM standards, prevent failure and theatre shut-down. 

Bender uses skilled and highly trained engineers who are strategically located no more than 2 hours’ drive from its healthcare customers.  Engineers are factory trained by Bender and Merivaara, or via verified sub-contractors to support approved maintenance regimes. They are deployed through a cloud-based planning schedule, with electronic reporting for instant feedback on the status of system health. Replacement parts are carried by engineers or in-stock for rapid repair to ensure downtime is minimised.

Caroline Stevens said: “The scale and skill of our department means that whether it is Bender power, third party UPS or clinical equipment such as Merivaara operating tables, we emphasise the importance of making sure all critical care systems are protected by a Bender maintenance contract within the first 12 months of installation.  This enables us to have sufficient stock of spares and resources in place to keep equipment healthy and uphold warranties.”
