With the LINETRAXX® SmartDetect RCMS425, Bender now offers two new residual current monitoring devices for earthed power supply systems. The devices were developed in accordance with the DIN EN 62020-1 standard, can monitor four channels simultaneously and have a Modbus RTU interface for easy connection to the higher-level control technology. The devices can be parameterised with the Bender Connect app via the existing NFC interface.
Both LINETRAXX® SmartDetect RCMS425-L and LINETRAXX® SmartDetect RCMS425-D are equipped with state-of-the-art measurement technology and are suitable for use in earthed power supply systems. The devices measure AC, pulsed and DC residual currents in a frequency range up to 20 kHz. The measuring range extends from 2 mA to 70 A, the response values for residual currents of type A/F from 6 mA to 30 A and for residual currents of type B/B+ from 10 mA to 10 A.
Separately adjustable response values allow a distinction to be made between pre-warning and main alarm as well as between RMS value, the individual AC and the individual DC component. With the help of special analysis functions, harmonics up to the 400th harmonic can be detected.
In addition to the four residual current inputs, the RCMS425 has a further digital input, a digital input and output (IO) and a multifunctional digital/analogue output. Two alarm relays for pre-warning and main alarm round off the interfaces.
The RCMS425 can be easily integrated into new and existing electrical systems via the existing Modbus RTU interface. The parameters required for electrical systems are set either via Modbus RTU or using the NFC interface via the Bender Connect app. Settings can also be made via the Bender Connect app when the power is switched off.
The RCMS425 is available in two versions. With the RCMS425-L, several coloured LEDs indicate the current status of the system. The RCMS425-D has a colour LCD display that provides more information and therefore an even quicker overview.
Both versions can be operated with an operating voltage of AC/DC 100...240 V or DC 24 V via the built-in wide-range power supply unit, so that no external power supply is required. Alternatively, operation with DC 24 V via an external power supply unit is also possible. The functionality can be extended via function modules, e.g. for harmonic analysis and for connecting measuring current transformers from other manufacturers.
Both variants are only 36 mm/1.4" wide (2 HP).
