Our focus on Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions for industrial markets have increased at Bender UK, with the expansion of our specialist team as part of a strategic drive to help organisations strengthen critical power resilience in safety and mission critical environments.

We operate from three regional UK locations, including our headquarters at Low Mill Business Park in Ulverston and a base in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This year, our business marks 30 years in the UK, while the wider Bender Group celebrates 80 years of global engineering expertise focused on helping organisations safeguard critical electrical systems and reduce the risks associated with power loss.

That expertise has helped establish us across UK industrial sectors through electrical safety, monitoring and service capabilities. We have a long history of supporting healthcare environments with UPS systems, including involvement in major schemes such as the Nightingale hospital projects.

We are now enhancing our offer to industry by strengthening our UPS capability, supporting customers where continuity of power is essential for safe and efficient operations.

The development reflects growing market demand for robust backup power systems as operators look to reduce downtime, protect critical assets and strengthen operational continuity across complex electrical infrastructure.

Gareth Brunton, Managing Director of Bender UK, said: “Across industry, organisations are operating in increasingly demanding environments where power continuity, safety and asset availability are business critical.

“Unplanned power disruption can affect production, safety systems, data integrity, compliance and customer service, so UPS should be considered as part of a wider power resilience strategy rather than as a standalone product.

“Many industrial sites continue to rely on ageing infrastructure, legacy equipment or limited contingency arrangements, which can increase operational risk if systems are not properly specified, monitored and maintained.

“As demands on critical infrastructure increase, the need for resilient electrical systems, underpinned by well designed UPS solutions and long term support, has become more important than ever.”

As part of this increased focus, we have expanded our UPS team with Jay Harwood, Peter Boyle and Jack Harrison, who will support specification, delivery and lifecycle service for industrial customers.

Jay brings more than two decades of experience in UPS design, specification, build and maintenance and is supporting the development of our UPS commercial function. Peter and Jack are industrial engineers with broad sector experience and specialist knowledge of UPS solutions, working directly with customers to identify power supply risks and develop appropriate technical responses.

Bender UK has built its reputation in safety-critical environments where electrical reliability is fundamental to service continuity, asset protection and regulatory compliance. We are applying that experience to a broader range of industrial applications.

The offer combines UPS systems, electrical safety expertise, condition and energy monitoring, lifecycle asset management and proactive maintenance, supported by engineers, technical specialists and aftercare personnel across the UK.

Gareth added: “We are building on a strong foundation by increasing our UPS capability, expanding the team and working closely with established UPS partners. That combination means we can support industrial customers effectively, not only at the point of supply but throughout the lifecycle of their assets.

“Our aim is straightforward: to be the UPS partner of choice for organisations that need reliable systems, specialist advice and long-term support to strengthen critical power resilience.”
